Overview
Overview
Being a volunteer for the Football Coaching Program in Zanzibar, you'll be supporting a non-profit organization that allows street children to play football and ensure that they get to play for a club in the future.
The football project is rather poorly equipped and any sort of donation such as jerseys, shoes and balls, etc is always welcomed. You'll not only train the players but also be in charge of the storage room where all the gears for the game are kept.
The NGO supports around 40 players, of which 25 participate in training at the same time. The facility is managed by a trainer supported by up to five co-trainers and volunteers. Your aim should be to encourage young men to play football passionately and help them secure a position wherein they can get professional support to grow in future.

At Volunteering Solutions we try to provide best of the living arrangements to our international volunteers. So when in Tanzania, you do not have to worry about a single thing in the world and simply focus on your volunteer work.
Arrival & Orientation
You'll be arriving in Dar es Salaam or Zanzibar airport. No matter where you arrive, our team members will receive you at the airport. If you take a flight to Dar es Salaam, then you'll be taken to the local stay in the outskirts of the city where you'll spend a night and an Orientation Session will happen there. The next day you'll take a ferry to reach North Zanzibar, where you'll be volunteering (Ferry cost to be paid by the participant). In case you fly to Zanzibar directly, we'll directly take you to the volunteer house..
Accommodation & Meals
The accommodation will vary according to availability. There's a volunteer house in the Kwerekwe district of Zanzibar Town, less than a mile from the central bus station. From there, you can reach almost every place on the island in about an hour. There is also a market, restaurant and shop nearby. With the bus you need about 20 minutes to the district Stone Town. The house has three 4 bedrooms and a 6 bed room with a shower and a toilet. In the common kitchen, in the dining and living room and on the terrace you can cook, eat and relax together with other volunteers. The complex also has a large garden.
There's also a Beach House located in the Bububu district north of Zanzibar Town and is located on private property directly on the beach, far from mass tourism. The bus station and the market are a ten minute walk away. It takes about 20 to 30 minutes by bus to get to the Stonetown district. Please note that for beach house volunteers need to pay $80 extra per week but it would be only 10-15 min by bus to go to the football project.
At all the accommodations, two meals a day (breakfast and dinner) are provided to the volunteers.
